Barracuda restaurant first opened its doors in 2010, but we weren’t always one of Koh Tao’s seaview restaurants. Our first location was on ground level on Sairee walking street, just a stone’s throw from our current location. Back then, we had capacity for only around 20 diners, compared to the 50-60 we can seat now!
As our reputation grew and demand for bookings surged, we quickly outgrew our premises on the walking street and moved to a larger location elsewhere on Koh Tao. A seaview restaurant still wasn’t quite within our reach at that point, but our next move changed that!

We’ve been in our current rooftop location with Koh Tao seaview restaurant status since 2018. Here, we’ve continued to grow, and we’re proud to say many of the same staff members who helped us get started are still part of the Barracuda family today. Our people-first approach is at the heart of everything we do, and as a result, we have one of the strongest and longest-serving teams on the island.
So, regardless of whether you choose our Koh Tao seaview restaurant or beachside location, you’re not just enjoying a meal. You’re also contributing to our island community and helping make a positive impact.
But our story doesn’t end with great food and service. At Barracuda, we’re also deeply committed to supporting our local community. We regularly sponsor charity events, sports initiatives, and donate time and resources to various environmental and ecological causes.
